HISTORY

A group of distinguished Mexican and U.S. businessmen established the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce (USMCOC) in 1973 as a 501 (c) (6) non-profit business association chartered in Washington D.C. The coalition of businessmen created a bilateral organization to promote trade, investment and joint ventures on both sides of the border. Now in its third decade of operation, the Chamber has grown into a unique non-profit corporation operating through 10 offices in Mexico and 10 offices in the United States.

All chapters and offices, with strong local membership and international contacts, help businesses bridge differences in legal, regulatory and economic systems, as well as language and culture.

INTER-AMERICAN CHAPTER

The United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, is the leading Bi-National Business organization that builds mutual profitable trade and investment relationships between the United States and Mexico.

Additionally to membership activities, nowadays the Chamber is involved in several programs at Bi-National and Regional levels that include commercial, educational and cultural relations between both countries. The USMCOC Bi-Nationally has more than 2,000 members.

The Inter-American Chapter with headquarters in Miami has been in business for more than eleven years during which it has grown substantially and became one of the most active and successful Bi-National Chambers of Commerce in Florida. The chapter currently has over 150 members and continues growing. It offers a variety of programs and events in Florida which are aimed to provide its members the most current and relevant Mexico-Florida business information, as well as networking opportunities to expand their business.

The amount of Mexican companies opening offices in South Florida increases significantly on a monthly basis. The Region has become the epicenter of the Continental trade, banking and business in general, due to its geographic location, infrastructure and dynamic communications.

Upon Florida’s Governor Bush Team Mission to Mexico in the Summer of 99, the amount of US companies in the region targeting the Latin American market has focused on Mexico as the leading partner.

The services, programs, and benefits that the Chapter offers along with the support of all of our members make this an attractive, productive and fun Chapter to join!
